RCA - Airdroppable watek tank
RCA is a compact, air-deployable tank trailer for airborne engineer units and rapid-entry forces. It can be air-transported, heliborne under slings, or airdropped on LTCO11 platforms (4.5-ton load). Road-legal up to 40 km/h, it also fits 20-ft container transport and deploys by road, rail or sea.
Its principal strengths are:
-
1,450 L tank with two anti-slosh baffles and three sealed top hatches
-
Self-priming hydraulic pump (tractor-driven) — max 7 bar — continuous pump-and-spray operation
-
Draw from 5 m below water level; handles turbid and salt water (suction strainer + inlet filters)
-
Four watering modes: pressurized hose/nozzle or gravity hose/spreader bar
-
Independent-suspension axle with inertia braking; 28 cm ground clearance
-
Four stabilizer jacks and puncture-proof jockey wheel for safe static use
-
Simple 3-valve control with safety relief valves; maintenance-friendly layout
-
Operating range: +1 °C to +50 °C
RCA is built around a robust single-axle chassis with independent suspension for stable towing over rough surfaces. Braking is provided by an inertial (overrun) system, and the trailer is stabilized on site by four jacks plus a puncture-proof jockey wheel. The 1,450-liter tank integrates two internal baffles to limit fluid surge and three watertight access hatches for inspection and cleaning. A self-priming hydraulic water pump, driven by the towing vehicle, enables suction from sources up to 5 m below the trailer and supports turbid or saline water thanks to a suction strainer and inlet filters. Delivery is managed via three user-friendly valves, a hose with adjustable lance (spray or solid jet), and either pressurized or gravity distribution through hose or spreader bar. Safety relief valves protect the system during sustained operations.
Its main missions are:
-
Water distribution for runway, taxiway and apron restoration
-
Dust suppression and surface conditioning for earthworks and compaction support
-
Supply lines for cleaning, rinsing and general utility water on DZ/LZ staging areas
-
Backfill and route preparation support via gravity spreading or targeted pressurized spraying
-
Towed logistics in support of airdrop recovery corridors and field works
